Starting from the top. When building a website, you want to pick a domain name that has keywords in it. More on choosing a good domain name here.

For example, since this blog/website is about creating passive internet income, since the domain name “passiveinternetincome(.com)” was already taken, I knew that I wanter at least both of the main keywords in it “internet” and “income” since making money online has become quite popular and easily doable these days.

I  had played with a few different variations and eventually found a “.com” that was still available, the result being this website- HomeInternetIncome.com

Once again, the best and most popular place to register your domain name is Godaddy.com Click here–> Special Sale! 35% off .com domains at GoDaddy.com!.

The title tags

One of the major and extremely important practices of SEO is including keywords in the page title. Limit the length of your page title and ensure the most important keywords come first. Title tags constructed well will contain the major keywords systematically. It should be no more than 65-70 characters as a general rule. Avoid the stop words like; a, the, if, then, to et cetera. Limit the title tag to basically the use of hyphens, commas, and alphanumeric characters only.

The header tags

H1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6 and so on are the header tags. H1 is most prominent and significant of all. As a general rule, make the title of your web page H1’s. As discussed above, be sure the major keywords are present in your title tags since Google uses this to rank websites. This will in effect help improve your site’s overall ranking especially if readers are searching for your specific keywords.

The page content

What follows is the page content. The first thing to do here is create great and unique content that visitors will like. This should be your primary objective when SEOing your pages content. So before moving to put keywords on your page make sure your content is unique and engaging. Good solid content will help attract more readers and hopefully will get them to share your information with others by linking to your article.

Building your traffic with great content is your key to creating a great source of passive internet income with your blog or website.

Insert keywords and keyword phrases into your content carefully. They should be placed only where it makes sense. Too many keywords in your article is called “keyword stuffing” which can result in being penalized by Google. Being penalized by Google means that your website’s positioning in search results will drop. Page content of any website will be optimal between 350-700 words, containing specified keywords and keyword phrases.

Optimizing URL’s for SEO

Today, most people use content management systems (CMS), such as wordpress, joomla, and drupal, to build their websites. When creating pages within these content management systems will automatically create a URL that will look something like this.

www.homeinternetincome.com/?p=123

The “?p=123” at the end of the URL is automatically generated.

By creating search optimized URL’s, your URL will take the title of your posts and use it as the URL.

For example

www.homeinternetincome.com/?p=123
